BIOGRAPHY:

Brooklyn bred emcee Kris Kasanova is known for his lyrical prowess and eye-catching visuals, from his music videos to his photo shoots. Growing up in the projects of Red Hook, Kris learned the art of rap from his stepfather. At ten years old, Kris would accompany his stepfather to the studio during his sessions while he worked with great artists such as Mary J. Blige and Big Pun. Being around music so much, Kris became eager to start making up his own rhymes, which led him to start taking his craft seriously at the age of seventeen

In 2010, Kris met New York Lower East Side Producer/DJ, Ibe, who produced Kris’ his first mixtape entitled The Long Way Home. With Kris’ lyrical skill and Ibe’s creative production,  the two developed =WarPaint= which sonically took Kris to another level musically. Since the release of the album, many outlets like Hot 97, All Hip Hop, Karen Civil, 2 Dope Boyz, Karmaloop TV, and BET Music Matters all took notice. His recent success off of War Paint led to his single Just Anotha Day being added to mixshow at HOT 97 and has filled opening slots for ASAP Ferg, Vinny Cha$3, Kendrick Lamar, School Boy Q, Ab-Soul, Smoke Dza, and Big K.R.I.T.

His previous release, 24K, pays homage to his name, his age, and the golden era of hip hop with features from Flatbush Zombies, Worlds Fair and Sza with production by Canei Finch, Ibe, THC, DJ Dahi & Justin Rose.  Over the past year,  Kris Kasanova’s music has been featured on BET’s The Backroom, 106 & Park, SXSW ( TDE Stage), CMJ (Karmaloop Stage), A3C and brand relationships with Rocawear, Karmaloop, Good Wood NYC, RockSmith & 10 Deep. His last release, The Great Escape, paints the story of a young man transitioning in life and accepting the sobering responsibilities of father hood while pursuing a dream. Kris Kasanova, the author of these stories, pulls from his own life experience and those around him coming from what he describes as "the bottom of the bottom" in Red Hook, Brooklyn. The Great Escape is not about leaving your physical environment, but being free mentally to explore your true greatness. He is proud of where he's from, and in every record he drives home the urgency to progress, not only for himself, but to empower his people to do so as well leaving behind a path of greatness.  Stream and Download the album today wherever music is sold.
